Based upon the guidelines outlined by Governor Holcomb yesterday and with the health and safety of our guests in mind, the Economic Club of Indiana events scheduled for March 20 and April 3 have been cancelled. Due to the rapidly evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, guests that have purchased tickets to these events will be fully refunded. Your original method of payment will be refunded in full and will be reflected in 3-5 business days. Season ticket holders will receive a refund for the ticket value for both luncheons.
Over its more than 45-year history, the Economic Club of Indiana has been bringing together established and emerging leaders to discuss important social and economic issues that impact our economy. Preparations are already under way for an exciting 2020 – 2021 season with headliners such as Gail Boudreaux, President & CEO of Anthem; Tony Bates, President & CEO of Genesys and Indiana University President, Michael McRobbie. This is just a sampling of the many excellent speakers coming up.
Although the current public health situation calls for unique measures that are impacting our global society, the Economic Club looks forward to holding our season finale on May 20th with keynote speaker, Mike Tirico of NBC Sports. We will keep you apprised of any additional updates to this season should they become necessary. We encourage you to visit us on social media as we continue to engage through these channels. If you have any questions, please contact the Economic Club at email@example.com or (317) 614-0419. Thank you for your support of the Economic Club of Indiana. Stay well and we look forward to seeing you soon.
Judith Thomas, President & CEO of the Madam Walker Legacy Center, sits down with A’Lelia Bundles, Madam Walker’s great-great-granddaughter and author of On Her Own Ground, the biography of this legendary African American business woman. On Her Own Ground is a New York Times Notable Book and the non-fiction source for the fictionalized four-part Netflix series that will also premier on March 20. The iconic Walker Theater, now known as the Madam Walker Legacy Center, is a registered National Historic Landmark and was the headquarters for her company. The building is currently undergoing a massive renovation that will accommodate new, robust programming. Through this and other venues, Walker continues to inspire entrepreneurship, empower youth, and facilitate social justice.
